Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH)
REACH is a piece of European Union legislation which came into force on 1 June 2007. It aims to regulate the use of chemicals in the EU and minimise their risks to the environment and human health. We contribute to the protection of the environment and human health by only marketing products which comply with REACH.
In compliance with our obligations under Article 33(1) of REACH, a list of products containing substances of very high concern (SVHC) and a list of the SVHCs can be found here.
Directive 2011/65/EU on the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS)
RoHS came into force on 21 July 2011. It prohibits the marketing of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than a specific level of certain hazardous substances. Substances that are subject to restrictions are listed in Annex II 2011/65/EU (% by weight): Lead (0.1%), Mercury (0.1%), Cadmium (0.01%), Hexavalent chromium (0.1%), Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) (0.1%), and Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) (0.1%). From 22 July 2019, Delegated Directive 2015/863/EU will come into force and extend the list of restricted substances to include: Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (0.1%), Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP) (0.1%), Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) (0.1%), and Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) (0.1%). Medical devices and monitoring and control instruments are subject to a transition period until 22 July 2021.
